Tungsten copper electrode requirements, from material to finished form

Discuss tungsten copper electrodes with Extramet for a material, blank, or finished-component requirement. Send your process, material specification, dimensions, and quantity so the proposed supply can be checked against the application.

Extramet reviews electrode requirements with its supply partner. Available compositions, forms, dimensions, and delivery terms are confirmed against the requested application.

Specify the process before choosing the material

State whether the requirement concerns EDM, resistance welding, electrical contacts, or another process. These applications place different demands on an electrode. Include the process details so the proposed material and supplied condition can be reviewed for that use.

If you are replacing an existing part, include the current material data sheet and describe the problem: wear, erosion, dimensional change, overheating, or another failure mode. Keep any required properties and test methods with the material callout.

Tungsten copper specification checklist

Requirement Information to provide
Composition and grade Tungsten and copper content if specified, grade designation, governing specification, and permitted substitutions.
Material properties Required electrical conductivity, hardness, density, or other acceptance values, with units and test methods.
Form and condition Requested rod, bar, plate, blank, or finished part; identify any machining left to your shop.
Dimensions Drawing revision, size, tolerances, surface finish, edge details, and critical features.
Documentation Material records, composition or property reports, dimensional inspection, and lot traceability requirements.
Order requirements Sample and production quantities, annual usage, delivery destination, and target date.

Use the checklist with your material specification or drawing. Identify required properties and permitted substitutions before requesting a quote.

Material supply, blank, or finished electrode?

For material supply, define the starting size and condition as well as the material specification. For a blank, include any allowance needed for later machining. For a finished electrode, provide the final drawing and acceptance requirements.

This distinction keeps the quoted delivery condition clear. A nominal composition or matching grade name alone does not confirm that a proposed substitute meets your specification.

Questions before ordering

Which electrode products are available?

Send the required material, form, size, and quantity so Extramet can check the request with its supply partner. The quote will identify the proposed item, supplied condition, and availability; stock or application suitability should be confirmed before ordering.

Can I request a replacement for an existing grade?

Yes. Include the current specification or data sheet, the properties that control acceptance, and whether substitutions are permitted. Equivalence needs review against those requirements.

What should I include for samples or a repeat order?

Separate sample quantities from production demand. Identify the evaluation criteria, order frequency, drawing revision, and required records. MOQ, sample availability, pricing, and delivery timing will be confirmed for the proposed supply.

Send your electrode drawing or material specification

Include the process, requested form, quantities, and delivery target. Those details give Extramet a clear starting point for a supplier review.
